Assessment routes
Free Discovery Call
A free discovery call gives you the chance to talk through your concerns, ask questions and consider whether screening or assessment may be helpful. There is no obligation to book a screening or full diagnostic assessment after this call.
If I feel that a different type of assessment or support would be more appropriate for your child, I will always be honest about this and will signpost you where I can.
Dyslexia Screening Consultation
£99.00
Suitable for ages 6-18
Are you concerned that your child may be dyslexic but unsure whether a full diagnostic assessment is needed?
My dyslexia screening consultation explores possible indicators of dyslexia and helps you understand your child’s learning strengths and difficulties.
You’ll receive a written summary of the findings, practical strategies to support learning at home and school, and clear guidance on appropriate next steps.
This is a screening service and does not provide a formal diagnosis of dyslexia.
Full Diagnostic Dyslexia Assessment
£600.00
Suitable for ages 8 – 16
A comprehensive diagnostic assessment exploring your child’s reading, spelling and writing skills, alongside other areas of learning that may help explain their difficulties. The assessment builds a clear picture of your child’s individual strengths and needs and establishes whether dyslexia is present.
As a qualified teacher and specialist dyslexia assessor with a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), I provide a detailed diagnostic report with clear, personalised recommendations for home and school.
The assessment also includes a parent feedback meeting, a child-friendly outcome letter, a one-page learning profile and a school feedback meeting. I am also available to answer any questions about the report following the feedback meetings.
For a full breakdown of the assessment process and what is included, please see What’s Included.
Not sure where to start?
You do not need to know exactly what your child needs before getting in touch. A discovery call helps us talk through what you are noticing, what support has already been tried, and whether screening or a full diagnostic assessment would be the most appropriate next step.
| Service | Best for | Age range | What you receive | Cost |
| Free Discovery Call | Having an initial conversation about your concerns. | 6+ | A 30-minute phone call to talk about your child’s strengths, difficulties and possible next steps. | Free |

| Full Diagnostic Dyslexia Assessment | A detailed assessment of literacy and related learning skills. | 8 to 16 | A full written report with findings and recommendations, plus a parent feedback meeting. Further support, including a school meeting where needed, is included as part of the full assessment package. | £600.oo |
Important to know
A dyslexia screening does not diagnose dyslexia. It can help identify possible indicators of dyslexia or other learning difficulties and guide support or further assessment.
A full diagnostic assessment may identify dyslexia where the evidence supports it. If dyslexia is not identified, the report will still provide a clear understanding of your child’s learning profile and practical recommendations.
What is assessed?
A full diagnostic assessment explores the pattern behind a child’s literacy and learning profile. This may include reading, spelling, writing, phonological skills, working memory, processing speed and related areas.
It is not pass or fail
The assessment is not designed to catch your child out. The aim is to understand how they learn, where tasks are becoming difficult, and what support is likely to help.
